Hello,
my name is Kathryn Robbins.
Welcome to the
Stones of Glory web site!
I developed
the idea behind the jewelry you will find on our
product pages.
The whole idea of making jewelry from the
12 foundation stones of the New Jerusalem came about after
doing research concerning the stones on the breastplate of
the Jewish High Priest. My husband needed this information
for the novel he is writing, The Keturah
Code. It dawned on me
after my investigation, the stones mentioned on the
breastplate were very similar to the stones listed in the book
of Revelation concerning the New
Jerusalem.
I read, "Come, I will show
you the bride, the wife of the Lamb." Well, I know all
about brides! I have been a Wedding Consultant for the past 23
years and have helped more women than I can
remember, with the adornment process to become
beautiful brides, starting from their undergarments to their
veils. For many of us this is the only time we adorn ourselves
as if we were royalty.
The thought came to mind;
If we, the Church, are to be the Bride of the Lamb,
why shouldn't we put as much preparation into getting ready to
enter a covenant relationship with our beloved Jesus - the
Lamb of God, as we do our earthly spouses? I would never dream
of sending a woman down the aisle in her underwear, so
why should we be satisfied showing up to the Marriage
Supper of the Lamb in only our spiritual underwear? The
question could be; "What adornments do I need
to apply to my life in order to be ready for this union
with my Savior and King?"
Because I am a jewelry junky, I
thought it would be "too cool" to have a bracelet made with these
stones, so I started the search to find them. I had no idea what some of the stones were or what
they looked like. But, after several months, I located all the
stones and pearls in the size beads I needed. I made a
bracelet for myself and a few more for friends and
family. Soon I was getting phone calls, "Could you make
another one for a friend of mine? Oh, and could you write
up something that tells what it means, because I think it's really
interesting?" Well, how could I say no? I think it's more than
interesting, it's "foundational" to becoming the Bride of the
Lamb.
After much study and
research, I found that throughout history each stone has
acquired a meaning or "attribute" and I found it very
interesting how many scripture verses there are for each
one. I have listed the stones in order
according to Revelation 21 and have given three
scripture references and the
attribute for each item. Of course there are many more
scriptures than the three listed, but that's all that fit on
the paper bookmark.
I hope you will
take the time to browse our web site and read about the
meaning of the stones , the meaning of colors and the poem
"The
Color of Friendship." Don't forget to
check out the "too cool" jewelry.
In addition to founding Stones of Glory,
